I am in Connecticut from Idaho for business. I spent a week looking for a place to go with amazing seafood. Bill's has an amazing rating so I decided to check it out. I have never been more disappointed. I walked in and wasn't aware it was seat yourself. I made eye contact several times with a sever before she acknowledged me and told me to take a seat anywhere. I overheard my server talking t the others girls and several times she dropped the f bomb. She really didn't seem to like her job at all. Then she left. My new server was better but still spent ALL of her time talking t the other girls. My baked potato was basically raw. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the prime rib was delicious and the price was right. I will not be back. I deeply regret not going to one of the many other places along the way.
On the pricier side - which is expected of a seafood restaurant. Food is great. Right on the water, great location. Staff is very friendly and the place feels like home. No credit cards accepted, but there is an ATM right inside.
This is the restaurant I bring my out-of-town friends to when they visit. This is the main seafood restaurant for my family for as long as I can remember. This is the place for celebrations, dates, and family outings. Bill’s is home. Always get patio seating if the weather is nice, it offers scenic views of the Singing Bridge over a river and a dock where you can park your boat while you grab some dinner. I’ve had most [seafood] items on the menu, and it’s all good! Current go-to order: the mussels appetizer, an order of curly fries and an order of onion rings, YUM!! Note that it’s a cash only establishment, but there is an ATM on site. I try to make it a point to come here at least every other week in the summer, but everyone should eat here at least once.
Nothing says summer more than beer, picnic tables, seafood, outdoor dining, and happy folks. All these are brought together perfectly at Bill's where you will find a varied menu of favorite seafood dishes alongside landlubber fare for those picky ones in your party all served on paper plates with plastic cutlery.....nothing fancy here but boy is it good! When we were there on a busy August Saturday afternoon there was a short wait for a table but a live band kept everyone entertained.
Good food and service. Family oriented environment with a great summer time view from the patio. You should really try the Blackened Swordfish Reuben.
Waitresses were friendly and efficient and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The only thing that the management should think about is maybe turning off the stereo at the outside bar when the band is playing...to much of a cacophony of noise in the dining area.
