I left with a pocketbook filled with money and a mind filled with doubts about ever returning to shop here.
The prices were decent, but I couldn't find much to spend my allotted money on.
Smaller but nicer than Clinton Crossing. Eddie Bauer and Pepperidge Farms are favorites. VF clothing is VERY affordable and Old Navy is there too. Only thing CC Outlet has is Talbots. Take that n put at Tangers Outlet and im good to go! Some love Polo outlet and Dooney Bourke leather goods (purses). CC has that. however its a crowded grp over there and unimaginative layout. A movie tbeater is in Westbrook too if u decide to take one in at Tangers! Grab everyones fav candy corned popcorn too made every season but Winter. Usually not far from E. Bauer store...
I came here for the first time on Black Friday. I don't know why, but the place was nearly dead, without many holiday shoppers. Now, this can be seen one of two ways: first, "hey, less crowds, better parking, great!" Second, "...is there something we don't know about, and people are avoiding this place?"
The wife and I like to shop here. It takes us 45 min. to get here, only to see about half the stores closed. Whats go on here. The stores that we went into only to fine the prices on the high side. We use to stop at this one coffee shop for a break, now it isn't there. Is this because of on line shopping? There are some of us that really like to shop in stores to touch and feel, that makes a big difference. The parking lot wasn't even a quarter full. How sad!
One final thing: one of our group needed a wheel chair. You can rent them for free, and there are ample ramps and accessibility help outside of the stores. Inside the stores are hit and miss for wheel chair accessibility, depending on which store, but I blame the individual stores for that, rather than the outlets as a whole.
There was a time when I would have given this outlet 5 stars, but my last visit left me unsatisfied.
It's still a beautiful place, but is in need of more clothing and shoe stores.
As for the outlets themselves, they are alright. Most vending machines are finicky, but they have the only Pringles vending machines I have ever seen (so, points to the weird factor). Their bathrooms aren't well spread out, and I feel like they could use more (though, they were very well kept). There's also only one food serving establishment, which isnt...bad, just weird. (I did not eat there; my family brought lunches).
The stores here have a variety that we don't see in our old "Black Friday outlet destinations" anymore, which is why we came. We are going to go again, as our experience was nice, but there are a few issues I listed above.
when I'm in town I love shopping there. Was upset to find my favorite store vf stopped carrying sports teams clothing. Can't shop for my guy anymore there. Will have to shop online from now on for that stuff.
